LAST CALL: 5 PHONE CALLS THAT COULD DECIDE HB2375
This is it. The vote on HB2375 is happening today—and we are being told it will be extremely close.
A handful of calls this morning could make the difference between protecting Arizona’s historic districts…or losing them to demolition pressure.
Please take 10 minutes RIGHT NOW to call these legislators:
· Rep. Brian Garcia (D) — 602-926-3329 (bgarcia@azleg.gov)
· Rep. Lupe Diaz (R)— 602-926-4852 (ldiaz@azleg.gov)
· Rep. Gail Griffin (R)— 602-926-5895 (ggriffin@azleg.gov)
· Rep. Teresa Martinez (R)— 602-926-3158 (tmartinez@azleg.gov)
· Rep. Laurin Hendrix (R)— 602-926-5835 (lhendrix@azleg.gov)
Simple message for Democratic legislators:
We need to push back on the false narrative that we are “rich NIMBYs”. Example: “I am a (teacher, nurse, etc.) and many of my neighbors are also. We have invested years of time, resources and care in restoring our historic homes. Middle housing will replace our few remaining historic districts with upscale luxury apartments for wealthy investors.”
Simple message for Republican legislators:
We need to push back on the false narrative that we oppose ADUs.
Example: “Please vote YES on HB2375 to protect Arizona’s historic neighborhoods while allowing thoughtful growth. We support ADUs because they are a smart way to add growth without demolishing historic homes.”
That’s it. Short. Respectful. Effective.
Timing matters. Calls this morning—before the session—carry the most weight.
If you’ve been waiting for the moment to act, this is it.
Make your calls. Then comment “DONE” to help build momentum and remind others to step up.
Let’s finish this.
